Can I really send files larger than 50 GB?
Yes. Alt Share is built to handle files of 50 GB and beyond, including large videos, archives, and project files. The receiving device needs enough space for the files you send.
How does Alt Share keep my files private?
Your transfer uses a private room code and a connection encrypted in transit. Files move directly between devices rather than being kept in cloud storage. Share the room code only with your intended recipient.
Do both people need to have Alt Share?
Yes. The sender and recipient use the desktop app. The sender creates a room, and the recipient enters its code in Receive File to connect.
What affects my transfer speed?
Speed depends on both devices’ network connections, available bandwidth, and disk performance. Keep both devices connected and the app open throughout the transfer.
Which platforms can I download it for?
This site is set up for the Windows desktop release. The download panel will show the installer details when a release is available.
